Sally in the Garden

arranged for fingerstyle guitar

Sally in the Garden is a minor mode melody that I find quite haunting. I orginally learned this tune on lap dulcimer, from a friend who played it on the banjo. I had completely forgotten about it until someone played it at a pickin' party recently. I'm also working on a version of this tune which uses a 'melodic banjo' style approach on guitar. That is to say that the melody is played with no two consecutive notes played on the same string. The result is a rather interesting harp-like effect.
