Welcome to the homepage for UWM's Minority Media
Association. We are a
reletivly new organization at UWM, that is helping minorities make an
impact in the ever changing media in the United States. Whether it's
helping to get MPS students to get involved in the media or providing an
outreach for other students in the JMC/Mass Comm Department we are a
presence that is growing at UWM and making an impact in the metro
Milwaukee area.
Who are we?
The MMA is made up of JMC students from all walks of life,
and races. We
welcome everyone and anybody who is interested in minority issues in the
media, and who wants to lend a helping hand to JMC students who need
it.

What can you join us in doing?
Attend national journalism confrences
Help recruit MPS students into media professions
run charity events to help inner-city children get much needed school
supplies
Bring high-profile minority journalists to speak to students about the
field
Develop urban journalism workshops
Help students obtain grants for college
Organize panels to discuss pressing issues in the media that are
affecting minorities
