PREREQUISITES: Placement level A
ATTENDANCE POLICY: Attending lectures regularly is in your own interest. Attendance will be taken and, together with class participation, may be a factor in determining your final grade.
GRADING:
Quizzes 15%
Maple Assignments 5%
Midterm Exams 45%
(2 midterm exams will be given)
Final Exam 35%
MAKE-UP POLICY:
There will be four gateway exams. You must pass all 4 gateway exams; if you fail to pass all four, your maximum grade will be a C-. The pass level for each exam is 80%. Each gateway exam will first be given in class. Retakes will be administered in EMS W401.
All retakes must occur within the three-week period beginning when the exams are first returned in class. Students may not take an exam more than once a day.
The gateway exams are not part of your average for a grade, but, you will receive 5 points extra credit toward your total points for each gateway you pass on the first (in class) try.
NO PARTIAL CREDIT IS TO BE AWARDED ON ANY QUESTION ON THESE EXAMS. EACH QUESTION MUST BE ANSWERED COMPLETELY CORRECTLY TO GET CREDIT. NO EXCEPTIONS!
