DIGITAL LIBRARIES
-
A Digital Library (DL) is an online collection of
items and/or links, classified by subject.
-
A good DL will act as a filter, making it easy to find
useful information on the Internet.
-
DL's can be general (many subjects) or specific (e.g.
mathematics only).
-
A DL may keep copies of the items in its collection on its own server,
or may keep only links to the items. There are advantages
(and disadvantages!) to each method.
