Description: This software provides an electronic means of presenting lectures on Proteins and DNA to high school biology students. the primary feature is a series of 30 non-interactive lectures that include graphics and some simple animations. The lectures (called "presentations") are given on audio only: the text of the text of the lecture is not printed on-screen. A 30-question test is available. The test may be taken as either a pre-test of post-test, simple assesment measures are provided, including # and % correct. the program also includes a series of 5 interactive tutorials, which are essentially tests with imbedded content delivery. this software would be an effective supplement to the lecture component of a biology class.
Evaluation (10 being highest):Notes: A glossary is included. The text of the presentations is available on audio form only (it cannot be simply read from the screen). Use of this software might therefore be disruptive to other students in the room. The software would be used for maximum benefit if a student were to take the pre-test before viewing the presentations.
