October 2008…Congratulations to Jonathan for being named the Mental Health America of Wisconsin’s “Volunteer Partner of the Year.”
September 2008…Congratulations to Laura for receiving an American Psychological Foundation award to supplement her dissertation research.
August 2008…Congratulations to Laura and Cristal for receiving John and Lynn Schiek Research Awards in Behavior Analysis for their dissertation and master’s thesis research, respectively.
2008…Congratulations to Laura and Rachel for receiving University Dissertation Fellowships for 2008-09.
2008…Congratulations to Keri, who is attending Baylor University for internship, and to Drew, who is attending Brown Medical School for internship. January 2008...Dr. Kanter was awarded a Medicaid Infrastructure Grant to develop a Behavioral Activation toolkit focused on helping unemployed women with depression find and maintain employment..

June 2007...Dr. Kanter received funding from the Charles E. Kubly Foundation to conduct research on stigma and depression. In October, he hosted a two day workshop bringing together local community advocates and national research experts on stigma.
April, 2006... Dr. Kanter and Dr. Azara Santiago-Rivera received a Research Growth Initiative award from UWM for a project entitled "Behavioral Activation Treatment for Depression in Latino Adults: A Pilot Study." Click here for additional information
December, 2005... Dr. Kanter was named a Research Scholar for the Center for Addictions and Behavioral Health Research (CABHR) to conduct research on the stigma of depression. CABHR awarded Dr. Kanter a $20,000 grant to conduct this research.
