My teaching and research interests center on the adjustment of children and families under conditions of extreme stress. This includes child abuse and neglect, community violence, pediatric chronic illness, and children growing up in alcoholic homes. I am also interested in the general area of parent-child relations and specifically in parent-child relations around eating and feeding.
