Greg Surges is a
composer of electronic and chamber music.
Greg will complete his BFA in Composition/Music
Technology at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee in May, graduating with Honors,
and plans on starting his MM in Composition there in Fall 2009. His work has
been released on the
wandering ear
label, and his research
has been presented at the International Computer Music Conference in
Belfast, Ireland, and the SPARK Festival in Minneapolis, as well as
the 2009 National Conference on Undergraduate Research
and the UW-System Symposium on Creative Activity and Research.
He has been named one of "Milwaukee's Rising Talents" by the Shepherd Express,
and his piece 153 x 56 was premiered by sfSoundGroup. He is a dedicated
performer of live electronic music, and a member of MiLO - the Milwaukee Laptop Orchestra.
Greg has upcoming (June, 2009) releases on Petcord and digitalbiotope netlabels.
