Office hours: TR: 11:50-12:20 T: 4:30-5:30 and by appointment.
Deadlines: A minimum of 40 pages is required by the end
of the
semester. Please turn in 10 pages by September 25; another 15
pages by October 28; and the final 15 pages by December 11.
Conferences: Conferences will be held on September 30 and
October 2,
and October 30 and November 4 in Curtin 515. No class meetings.
Manuscripts: All manuscripts should be typed, double-spaced,
with sufficient margin for comment.
Preparing work for class discussion: If your short story
or
novel excerpt is selected for the worksheet, you will need to
make copies of it and distribute them to the class and
instructor.
Distribution: Material for class discussion should be
distributed at least one class period in advance. The date of
the discussion and "Goulet's Fiction Workshop" should appear on
the first page of the copy. The writer's name should not appear
on the copies. For the convenience of students who are absent,
the writer will place extra copies in a designated mail slot on
the fifth floor of Curtin Hall.
Returning workshop manuscripts: Most writers will ask for
their
work back so they can look over written comments; you should be
prepared to return your copy.
REGULAR ATTENDANCE AND PARTICIPATION IN CLASS DISCUSSION REQUIRED.
