I received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Kent State University
in 2006. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in experimental psychology.
My work uses a rat-model of Pavlovian conditioning to study the neural
mechanisms of fear memory and my research interests are investigating
molecular mechanisms that support memory reconsolidation, which is a
reminder process in which memory becomes labile to amnesia. Currently,
I am examining memory disruption in the amygdala following multiple
memory retrieval sessions. I also have been working on projects
examining chromosomal substitution rat strains, or consomic rats, in
several behavioral paradigms in order to better characterize the role
genetics play in different learning situations.
