I am an Associate Professor in the
Communication Department at
the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. My
primary area of research is Organizational Communication with a focus upon
issues related to the use of communication technology in organizational
contexts. A secondary area of research focuses upon the use of
communication technology in educational settings (computer assisted
instruction and online distance education). Recently, I've been working on
projects that examine (1) factors that influence organizational media users'
perceptions of the capacity of a medium for conveying messages, (2)
communication in customer service settings, and (3) learning/affective outcomes associated
with computer-assisted instruction and WWW-based multimedia
presentation formats. I teach courses about Organizational Communication (COMMUN 310 and 810), Quantitative Research Methods in Communication (COMMUN 370), and Communication Technologies in Organizations (COMMUN 860; a variable topics course at present but will be permanently listed at some point in the next year or so). My undergraduate courses are regularly offered in face-to-face as well online formats. If you wish to see a syllabus for any course, please contact me. And, if you are reading this page to find more information about one of my online courses, please follow the link in the teaching area to read about a few issues that may help you to make an informed decision. I started teaching at UWM in the Fall of 2000. Before living in Wisconsin, I lived in Texas and Nevada. If you are interested in looking at the schools that I attended while there, please browse the links in the personal info section. Finally, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or wish to say "Hello." Site last updated on 11/05/2007 |
