MATH PEP
Your source for assistance with the UW System Mathematics Placement Test.
A service provided by the Department of Mathematical Sciences and the College
of Letters and Sciences at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee
Do you have to take the UW System Mathematics Placement Test for the first
time? Have you taken it already, and think you can do better if you only
had a way to review? Are you returning to school and think that your
high school mathematics skills need a little brushing up? Do you need a little
review (or a lot of review) but don't have the time to take courses? Don't
even know what the Mathematics Placement Test is, or why it matters? You have
come to the right place!
Math PEP is here to help you with all aspects of the Mathematics
Placement Test system. Our primary role is to help you review for the
Placement Test, but we can also provide you with information about
related issues, such as pre-testing (Early Math Placement Test) and re-testing.

General
Information about the Mathematics Placement Test. If you want an
overview of the placement test, look here. The sample questions are
representative of what you will see on the actual test. You will have to
scroll down the page a bit to get to the Mathematics part.
- Early Math Placement Test This is a program
for high school juniors. Think of it as a dry run for the Mathematics
Placement Test. It is administered through local high schools, usually in the
junior year. You should take this test if your school offers it. If your
school doesn't offer it, ask why, and let us know.
- First time test taker Whether you are a high
school senior or a returning student, if you have never taken the Mathematics
Placement Test before, you should review. Ah, but "what should I review, why
should I review, and how should I review?"
- Getting your scores and understanding what
they mean.
- Retesting "I know I know more math than
that!" We can help you test up to your potential.
- Self-study There is an alternative to taking
non-credit mathematics courses.
- How to sign up Are you ready to take the
plunge? Here is what to do.
