Math 231 Exam Information, Fall 2007
- Tests. There will be four midterm tests, making up roughly 50 percent of
your grade. Each test will have two parts. The first part of each test is a
Departmental Exam called a
Gateway exam . You will have 30 minutes to complete
this part of the test. If you do not get 80 percent or better on this part you
will have to repeat it. See below for details.
Calculators will not be permitted on tests, and messy computations will be kept
to a minimum.
- Final Exam. There will be a comprehensive final exam, making up roughly
thirty percent of your grade. Calculators will not be permitted. The exam will
be given in your regular classroom, EMS E495. The date and time is
found
here . Make a note of it. If you do not appear for the final and do not
notify me before the final has ended, you will earn a grade of F for the course
unless you have become eligible for a grade of incomplete owing to some sort of
emergency. If you fear that you might oversleep, give me your phone number and
I will give you a wake up call. The final will not be given early. If you are
called up for military duty other arrangements will be made for you to complete
the course. If you have at least two other finals on the same day as this final
let me know and I will try to arrange for you to take a final exam in another
section at a later date. Be advised that this final will be composed by
someone other than me.
