Homework will be collected at the
beginning of class on Thursdays and Mondays, beginning the first Monday on
which we meet. Homework will count roughly 50 percent of your grade. Homework
is designed to test your creative thinking. Real math is not done on the sort
of deadline imposed on a test, so homework counts a lot here. The work you
present is to be your own. Any contributions by others must be acknowledged.
If you fail to do so, this is plagiarism and will be dealt with according to
University policies. This should not be taken to mean you should not consult
with one another or me unless explicit instructions are given to the contrary.
If an exercise is sloppy, disorganized or the problem is not
stated, it will be scored 0. All graphs are to be on graph paper.
If this is not done, again a score of 0. Graph paper is available online at
here .
Your homework will be graded, not just spot checked or a grade recorded based
on that you turned something in. You may be asked to rewrite an assignment
before it is accepted. An occasional late assignment will be
tolerated. Habitually late homework will earn a grade of zero.
Homework solutions will be posted eventually.
