Becky Byars

Becky on a fieldtrip in northern Wisconsin.

Becky in Mountain, WI.

Becky is a student in the MS program. Her research involves using wavelets to characterize fabrics in cataclasite zones. In particular, she is working on a collaborative project, studying small-scale deformation bands in New Mexico, with Aviva Sussman from Los Alamos National Labs.

Terra Anderson

Terra in Ontario.

Terra collecting deformed metaconglomerates in Ontario.

Terra is a student in the MS program who joined us after completing her undergraduate work at Michigan Tech. For her research, she is studying deformed conglomerates. In particular, she is using EBSD to study quartz fabrics within the conglomerates to see how they evolve with increasing strain.

Kim Johnson

Kim in Ontario.

Kim checks out a pavement of deformed conglomerates in Ontario.

Kim is a student in the MS program who joined us after completing her undergraduate work at SUNY-Geneseo. For her research, she will most likely be using FTIR to study water content in deformed conglomerates at a variety of strains from Antelope Island, Utah.
