(Gingerbread) Vår Kok Bok
6 oz. margarine or butter
2 c. sugar
3/4 c. molasses
3/4 c. water
1 T. cinnamon
1 T. ginger
1 T. cloves
1 T. baking soda
5 ½ c. flour
Cream butter, sugar, and molasses. Add water,
spices, and baking soda and work into a dough. Knead well. Chill overnight in an
airtight container. Roll out the dough: very thin is considered high quality,
but don't roll so thin that they burn. Cut out shapes. Bake in the middle of the
oven at 400°F
5-7 minutes or until lightly browned.
