A: MD \ADW CD \ADW COPY G:\DLN436\ADW\*.* CD \ C:You should now be able to use ADW for your project.
In the interests of portability, you should use the ADW Project only. Creating another encyclopedia, either on drive A: or C:, would restrict you to working at that particular workstation only.
Make sure that the disk with your encyclopedia is in A:
before doing this. ADW will then require you to sign in, using a screen similar to the one below. You should sign in as newuser. There is no password, and you can click on "Sign-On" or merely press the "Enter" key.
At this point, ADW will present you with a list of available encyclopedias, one of which should be ADW Project. The screen will look somewhat like this.
Simply double click on the encyclopedia marked ADW Project. Alternatively, you can highlight it and open it using the "File" option. ADW will go through loading and restoring the encyclopedia, flashing a message "Open in progress", and finally marking the encyclopedia as "Open".
At this point, you need to reduce the size of this window, to avoid some clutter on the desktop. Do not use the minimize icon, as this will freeze the workstation. Simply grab the bottom left corner and drag it to the opposite corner, until the window is of the size of a postage stamp.
All the tools in ADW are now available for use.
Important: At no point during the ADW session should you remove the diskette containing the encyclopedia from drive A:, since ADW is constantly reading and writing to these files.
Simply respond "yes", and all open tools and encyclopedias are shut down.
