Dave Clark

Welcome!

I am an assistant professor of English at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. If I ever start a blog about my hobbies and interests, which include dogs, cats, music, and personal information management, it will be on my personal site (House of Booker). This site is about my professional activities:

  • Research. My research work focuses on the rhetoric of technology, the ethics of qualitative research, information design, and community engagement. To me, it's a very coherent assortment of topics, and I'm working on a book manuscript that combines them.
  • Teaching. I teach primarily in UWM's Professional Writing program, and I teach a variety of courses designed to help students who want to be writers, information designers, and academics.
  • Service. I have served on a fair number of administrative and graduate committees in the department, but this page is primarily about my service to local, national, and international organizations.
  • Personal. I giggle and point every time I see a dog, and I'm constantly engaged in finding new ways to organize my digital information. In my spare time, I play with my dog Booker, code web pages, and obsess about how my life data is organized.

This site is really just a brochure for my work. Please contact me at dclark@uwm.edu if you have questions or would like more information.
