The Edison Initiative houses three major Programs: Freshman Scholars, Peer Mentoring, and UROP. Each is designed to enrich the undergraduate experience, from freshman year through graduation. It is located within The College of Letters and Science at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.
The
Freshman Scholars Program
Innovative,
special topic seminars limited to 15 students.
Emphasis on
student participation and discussion.
Limited to first-year
students in the College of Letters and Science.
The
Peer Mentoring Program
Outstanding
students nominated by Freshman Scholars faculty.
Emphasis on
writing, communication, and computer technologies.
Employed as
Mentors and Consultants throughout the undergraduate program.
University Research
Opportunity Project
First and second- year students work closely with individual faculty on
specific research projects in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences..
WebCredible
The Edison Initiative offers an excellent resource for creating and developing
web pages, understanding the Internet, using graphics, and many other subjects.

I am the editor of
CrossCurrents, a series of books focusing on composition and literature. It
emphasizes interventionist pedagogies supported by current research and theory.
The series is published by Boynton/Cook
Publishers and is part of Heinemann Publishing.
