- FACTS/LRE Project: Family and Child Transitions into
Least Restrictive Environments Five manuals are available in full text from
Website. Two address the importance and mechanics of writing interagency
agreements to support the transition of young children and their families from
early intervention to preschool (#1,#5). Two focus on the successful entry and
adjustment of young children in inclusive preschool programs (#2, #3). One
manual provides guidance for early intervention staffs and families in
identifying and selecting appropriate special education and related services
for their child upon entry to preschool.

- Project STEPS (Sequenced Transition to Education in the
Public Schools) National Outreach Project hosts a variety of resources to
address systems change and interagency collaboration for facilitating
transitions. Focus is on quality training and technical assistance as the
framework for quality services for young children with disabilities and their
families.

- National TEEM Outreach: A Systematic Planning and
Collaborative Decision-Making Process for the Transition of Young Children
with Disabilities and Their Families into Kindergarten and Other General
Education Settings. This project supports the inclusion of young children with
disabilities in their local kindergarten and subsequent primary grade
classrooms through systematic transition planning and the provision of
follow-up support as children move from early childhood settings to
kindergarten to first and second grades.

- Circle of Inclusion: Website is for early childhood
service providers and families of young children. This web site offers
demonstrations of and information about the effective practices of inclusive
educational programs for children from birth through age eight.

- The Early Childhood Research Institute on Inclusion (ECRII)
is a five-year national research project funded by the Office of Special
Education Programs, U.S. Department of Education to study the inclusion of
preschool children with disabilities in typical preschool, day care and
community settings.

- The Early Childhood Follow-Through Research Institute (ECFTRI)
is examining the use of the best practices from early intervention for young
children with disabilities and their families for kindergarten through 3rd
grade. Three areas have been proposed - family-centered practices, integrated

with Disabilities in Community Settings throughout Wisconsin. Options are
expanding for young children with disabilities. Professionals working with 3
through 5 year old children with disabilities are finding innovative ways to
provide a continuum of service options for these children. The goal is to
provide integrated learning activities and environments for young children
with disabilities and to provide these experiences in the least restrictive
environment.
