Wednesdays: 2-6 pm ~ Room 409
June 1 to July 16, 2004

Instructor: Professor Gerald J. Alred
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee

Writing for Business Management covers both the theory and practice of written communication in business (reports, memorandums, e-mails, letters). This course will use the "case method" with the instructor providing various scenarios of typical business writing situations. Students will be expected to practice writing and revising through in-class workshop groups as well as individually outside the class. The course will also cover principles of clarity and coherence in English as well as international issues in business communication. Students will use The Business Writer's Handbook (7th edition) to study business writing principles as well as to write and revise their assignments.
