Master of Urban Planning (MUP)
Master of Urban Planning (MUP) is a professional program designed to prepare students for careers in Urban Planning in the public or private sectors. This two-year program is fully accredited by the Planning Accreditation Board (PAB. No specific undergraduate background is require for admission to this degree program, although many students come from backgrounds in Architecture, or Geography, or other social sciences.

Coordinated Degree Program in Architecture and Urban Planning
Master of Architecture / Master of Urban Planning (M.Arch/MUP) requires 3 years
of graduate studies (84 credits) for those with sufficient academic backgrounds
in some aspect of architecture. This degree is designed to prepare students to
become highly skilled in understanding, integrating, and managing architectural
and urban planning programs, policies, plans, and designs. A 4.5-year option
(125 credits) is available for students without an undergraduate background in
architecture, but who wish to focus in this area of study.

Coordinated Degree Program in Public Administration and Urban Planning
Master of Public Administration/Master of Urban Planning (MPA/MUP) combines professional training in planning with applied administrative and managerial skills. Total credit requirement is 54 - 57 credits, based on a student's track and choice of concentration in public administration.

Undergraduate Certificate in Urban Planning
Certificate in Urban Planning Studies is offered to undergraduate students who obtain a thorough introduction to urban planning through specialized undergraduate coursework. This track will provide students with an understanding of important problems facing urban society. The Urban Planning certificate program prepares students for graduate coursework and professional careers.

Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Systems
Certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) GIS is used to manage and analyze spatial data for a broad range of business and public uses. Public health offices study the spatial patterns of infectious disease outbreaks; market researchers study the demographics of areas before introducing a new product to an area; educators study geographic data to recommend building new schools or closing others. In short, if “where” is a critical component of a problem, GIS is critical for finding a solution. GIS is one of the “21 hot jobs for the 21st Century,” according to U.S. News and World Report (1991).
