School of Architecture and Urban Planning at UW-Milwaukee

School of Architecture and Urban Planning Advising Office - AUP 225

Welcome to the School

Your Success is our Success

SARUP’s advising staff members are the "go to" people. From the time students step in the door until they walk across the stage with a degree in hand, our advisors are here to offer their support and advice. And our advice goes beyond just helping students decide what classes to take. SARUP advisors listen to students’ concerns, aspirations and ideas, and help them to put things into place and keep things in perspective. Our program is challenging and SARUP advisors understand that. We are here to help alleviate some of the stress and worries that students can experience. We are experts at helping students problem-solve and discover appropriate solutions to their scholastic and philosophical quandaries. Of course, we’re here to ensure that students are properly registered, that they are taking the appropriate classes for their major, and to see that they have the proper credits and classes needed to graduate. SARUP advisors do much more than count credits, and if we can't help, we can direct students to the appropriate person or department to ensure that they get their questions answered and issues resolved.

Meet with Your Advisor Every Semester

To avoid costly delays and unnecessary credits, be sure to meet regularly with an advisor—at least once each semester. New transfer students should meet with an advisor prior to registration.

Academic advising is done by professional advisors in the School's Student Advising Office, Room 225.

Advising is generally done on an appointment basis. Because registration for Semester I (fall) classes occurs in April, it is best to make your appointment a month prior. For scheduling Semester II (spring) classes, make your appointment for October or early November.

Hours:  We are available during university business hours

(8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) to answer questions and to schedule appointments for students.
