Kenilworth Building
Kenilworth Building    The Kenilworth Building was turned over to UWM by the U.S. General Services Administration as surplus property in 1971. The land at that time was valued at $1 million. The building, valued at $5 million, was built by the Ford Motor Company in the 1920s and later was owned by General Motors Corporation. During World War II and later it was used by G.M.'s A.C. Spark Plug, Inc. to manufacture bombsights, and was known as U.S. Air Force Plant #58. Kenilworth houses Physical Plant Services and Printing Services and provides storage and research facilities for the Department of Anthropology and the School of Fine Arts. A $300,000 remodeling project was completed in June, 1975, along with various repair and improvement projects. Return to Neighborhood Map
