The building houses classrooms, offices, a multi-purpose gymnasium, handball and racquetball courts, a combatives gymnasium, weight training rooms, and a 25-yard swimming pool. It was named in 1978 for J. Martin Klotsche (1907-1995), professor of history and president of Milwaukee State Teachers College-Wisconsin State College from 1946 to 1956, and provost-chancellor of UWM from 1956 to 1973.
