The L&S Registration Process
- Advising at Registration is done in a group-advising format.
- While you will not meet one-on-one with your advisor, you will have an opportunity to speak individually with an advisor as you complete the registration process.
- Typically, there is about 1 advisor for every 10-15 L&S students attending
- Make the most of the time you have to speak with an advisor. Come prepared for your Registration session!
Sequence of Program
Registration takes place during the afternoon session of the New Freshman Orientation. For L&S students, Registration lasts about 4 hours and consists of two main components:
- L&S group advising session.
You will:
- learn and discuss the results of your placement exams
- receive a detailed explanation of the L&S degree requirements (these are the requirements you need to complete in order to graduate)
- choose your courses. Advisors will provide information and choices for you, but you decide which courses you will take.
- Registration on PAWS. Advisors and current students will help you register for your classes in a computer lab after you have finished your course selection.
