Undergraduate Majors and Programs

Whether or not a student is preparing for more advanced degrees, the goal of Letters and Science undergraduate work is to develop critical and open minds. The intent is to provide an intellectual foundation in the basic areas of knowledge.

Or, instead of a fixed major curriculum or special degree program, you can enroll in a Committee Interdisciplinary Major, which allows you to consult with a faculty committee and create a personalized major designed to meet your individual education goals.

Pre-professional study programs are offered in:

Veterinary Medicine

In addition to your major, you may take a minor in another department or enroll in a certificate program to gain competence in a special subject area. Certificate programs usually require 18 to 21 credits in courses from a variety of departments.

If you are an incoming freshman, you may want to consider the Freshman Scholars program, a series of seminars created exclusively for first-year students. Taught by our best educators and limited to just 20 freshmen, each seminar provides you with a unique opportunity to get to know our faculty and your fellow students. And in this small seminar setting, your professor will serve as a mentor, coaching you and helping you to achieve success in college.
