Director, Honors College

The College of Letters and Science seeks a full-time, tenured member of the UWM faculty to direct the Honors College.

The Honors College is a seminar-based liberal arts program open to students in all UWM schools and colleges. Each semester, the Honors College offers approximately 25 introductory and advanced seminars, and serves more than 450 students. The Honors College staff includes six full-time Lecturers, an assistant director, two adviser/recruiters, a program assistant, and a student assistant.

The Director is responsible for the overall administration of the College, including managing anticipated enrollment growth and increasing the diversity of the student enrollees. Specific responsibilities include: programmatic development; student and faculty recruitment; budget management; and staff supervision. The Director has the opportunity to teach periodically in the College.

The Director has a 50% academic-year limited appointment in the Honors College and holds a concurrent appointment as a tenured member of the UWM faculty. Qualifications include demonstrated excellence as a teacher, a commitment to liberal arts education, and a distinguished record of contributions to the academic and professional life of the University. Priority will be given to applicants with experience teaching in an Honors Program or College. Experience working with or recruiting populations of diverse backgrounds is desirable.
