Assistant Professor, Applied Macroeconomics and Monetary Economics

The Department of Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee seeks outstanding applicants for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor to begin in August 2008 or earlier. An ideal candidate should have a strong background in applied Macroeconomics and Monetary Economics. Preference will be given to candidates with research interests in the macroeconomic consequences of housing market trends. Responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate teaching and supervision of dissertation research. The department seeks candidates with a Ph.D. (or evidence of imminent completion) and a commitment to excellence in research leading to publication in nationally and internationally recognized journals, as well as to excellence in teaching both in the classroom and through advising, course development and collegial service.

Application deadline is May 20, 2008. Applicants should submit their vitae, three letters of recommendation, research papers (or portion of dissertation) and, if available, evidence of teaching performance.
