The Edison Initiative consists of three programs designed to enrich the undergraduate experience of students from freshman year through graduation. These programs are designed to bring faculty and students together, to promote teaching and learning communities, and to develop awareness of research and its possibilities.
Freshman Seminars are innovative, special topic seminars limited to 20 students each. The emphasis in these classes is on student participation and discussion, and they are limited to first-year students. For a complete description of the current offerings, check out the Fall 2008 Seminars.
The UROP program in the College of Letters and Science pairs students with UWM faculty researchers. Through UROP, any UWM undergraduate can become involved in the University's research mission while enhancing his or her educational experience at UWM.
