The College of Letters and Science's Corporate and Community Programs has the responsibility of coordinating off-campus educational programs to the Milwaukee metropolitan community. These programs allow the College to extend special programming not only to UWM students, but to the interested public as well as corporate clients. Credit offerings include regular courses, short term "mini courses," and media-linked instruction. Our corporate programs, both on- and off-campus, emphasis custom-designed training programs using the latest research, current technologies, instructor feedback and support, and teamwork. Our non-credit programming utilizes a variety of formats; classes, seminars, lecture series, and tours. While a majority of our programs are conducted at the UWM campus or in its general vicinity, study abroad and overseas tours, guided by UWM faculty, are usually offered each year.
The College of Letters and Science offers credit and noncredit outreach courses to students who have limited access to the UWM campus and its regular day and evening schedule. Numerous credit courses are scheduled each semester at off-campus locations throughout the greater Milwaukee area. An L&S BA degree in Organizational Administration is being made available to people in the West Bend, Sheboygan, Waukesha, and Rock County area through a cooperative effort with the UW Colleges in those communities. Special programs like Irish Fest Summer School on campus and Workshops at the UWM Field School in Saukville are representative of the variety of additional programming.
Training, development, and education emphasizing the latest research, current technologies, instructor feedback and support, and teamwork are what Corporate University Programs is all about. Programs offer: on-site or off-site training programs custom for a business or organization; opportunities to earn UWM undergraduate and graduate degrees, and college credit certificates; and expert assistance in conducting surveys, generating reports, and analyszing data. Through the best in up-to-date training, development, education, and survey expertise, Corporate University Programs aims to assist employers and organizations reach a higher level of performance.
