  1. Call to Order - Upon unanimous recommendation of the members of the Academic Planning and Governance Committee and endorsement by Dean Richard Meadows, the College Faculty conducted an email vote on two faculty documents that were of some urgency. The documents were distributed via email to all members of the Faculty on December 12, 2006, and members were asked either to respond with their votes (aye, nay, abstain) no later than 4:30 on December 21 or to express their wish to abstain by simply not responding to the request.

  2. Automatic Consent Business - N/A

  3. Old Business - none

  4. New Business -The followed items were moved and seconded by the Academic Policies and Curriculum Committee. Votes were received via email and counted after 4:30 on December 21. The results of those votes are reported below.
    A. Recommendation to Change the Name of the Hebrew Studies Major - Sixty-three responses were received; 62 votes in favor of the recommendation and 1 vote against it were recorded. The motion was approved.  
    B. Recommendation to Create a Curricular Area for Translation Courses - Sixty-three responses were received; 60 votes in favor of the recommendation and 1 vote against it, with two abstentions, were recorded. The motion was approved.

     
  5. Adjournment - The vote count was completed and recorded in these minutes by 5:00 p.m.
