Recommendation:

That the L&S Faculty recommend to the Dean approval of the Translation curricular area.

Rationale:

Students who are interested in the translation program have difficulty finding the courses they need because they are scattered among different departments. The new curricular area will allow courses to be set up as joint offerings between Translation and the appropriate foreign language curricular area. The new area code will give a stronger identity to this interdepartmental program.
