Recommendation of Department of Foreign Languages and Linguistics and the L&S Academic Policies and Curriculum Committee to Create a Japanese Curricular Area
Recommendation:
That the L&S Faculty recommend to the Dean approval of the Japanese curricular area.
Rationale:
Japanese courses have been increasingly popular, but students have difficulty locating them because they have been offered under the Linguistics curricular area. Creating a Japanese curricular area will result in these courses appearing under their own heading in the Schedule of Classes, making it easier for students to find them.
