- Tom O'Bryan raised the issue of the APCC policy that freezes action on any curricular matters for the entire College if one department does not submit its self-study (for its ten-year review) by the deadline. Members agreed that this action is unfair, given that other departments in the College have no way to pressure a department to complete its self-study. Connie was asked to draft a memo to the APCC raising this concern. If that Committee did not respond by changing its policy, members agreed to take the matter to the Senate.
- Tom O'Bryan informed the committee of a web-site that links to all of the university policies that are typically found on class syllabi. He recommended that Connie Jo inform department chairs of this web-site, as well as the L&S grade appeal policy web-site, so that they can pass it on to their faculty who, in turn, can put the web-site addresses on their class syllabi instead of listing all of the policies individually. The websites are: www.uwm.edu/Dept/SecU/SyllabusLinks.pdf and www.uwm.edu/letsci/services.html (click on "undergraduate grievance/grade appeal" link).
