Recommendation of the Celtic Studies Curriculum Committee and the L&S Curriculum Committee to Create a Celtic Studies Curricular Area

Recommendation:

That the L&S Faculty recommend to the Dean approval of the Celtic Studies curricular area.

Rationale:

Courses in Celtic Studies have become increasingly popular in recent years. Students completing requirements for the Certificate Program have difficulty finding the core courses for the certificate because they are listed under Ethnic Studies and Linguistics. A Celtic curricular area will provide a home for these courses to be listed together under an appropriate rubric.
