Recommendation of the Ad Hoc Earth and Freshwater Sciences Committee and the L&S Academic Policies and Curriculum Committee to Create an Earth and Freshwater Sciences Curricular Area

Recommendation:

That the L&S Faculty recommends to the Dean approval of the Earth and Freshwater Sciences curricular area.

Rationale:

The suspended Geosciences Ph.D. is being reactivated with new interdisciplinary tracks. There will be some courses common to all tracks that do not fit into any of the College's existing curricular areas. Therefore, the creation of a new, interdisciplinary curricular area is recommended. (See also the Curricular Area Approval Form below.)
