Recommendation of the Academic Planning and Governance Committee to Revise its Charter
Recommendation:
Revise the AP&GC Charter, Section 4, as follows:

Subcommittees. The committee may establish ad hoc or permanent subcommittees to consider special matters within the general functions of the committee. The membership and functions of the subcommittees are expressed in writing and approved by majority vote of the committee. Subcommittees may include as voting members faculty, academic staff, and student members not already members of the committee, provided that at least one a majority of the voting members of the subcommittee are is concurrently a voting members of the full committee. Recommendations of a subcommittee must be approved by the full committee before being forwarded to the College Faculty or Dean for further action. |
Rationale:
The Academic Planning and Governance Committee may appoint several subcommittees. Members feel it is more practical to allow the appointment of new subcommittees with just one voting member of the full committee, so as not to overload members with committee service.
