The motion was approved. It was moved and seconded to recommend to the Dean approval of Arabic 164 GER-HU request. Member discussed whether this course meets the criteria defining cultural diversity. They agreed this course provides a good test case for expanding the definition of cultural diversity. The motion was amended to recommend CD approval in addition the HU distribution credit. The amended motion was approved unanimously.

She gave a brief description of the new courses, explained the changes in the requirements of the German major and minor, and answered questions by the Committee. Committee members expressed concern that no member of the German faculty was present at the meeting. It was moved, seconded, and approved to recommend to the Dean approval of the German 331, 333, 334, 451, 460, and the proposals to change the requirements of the German major, minor, and business minor. The motion to return to the order of business was approved.
