1. Call to Order - The Co-Chair, Robert Hessling, called the meeting to order at 11:40 a.m. in Holton Hall 241.
   
   
2. Automatic Consent
1. Minutes #3, 2003-2004 (February 4, 2004) were approved unanimously.
   
   
3. Procedural Matters
1. Election of Chair for 2004-2005 - Alice Gillam was elected unanimously as chair for the 2004-2005 academic year.
   
   
4. Old Business
1. Review of Committees - Because the Committee is recommending a revision of the L&S Faculty Committees' structure, no additional review of individual committees is warranted at this time.
   
   
5. New Business
1. Nominations for Committees - Committee members selected nominees for Faculty Committees. They agreed to leave nominee slots empty if no candidates were available.
2. Faculty Meeting Date, April 22, 2004 - The proposed meeting date was approved unanimously.
3. Faculty Meeting Agenda Items - Proposals to modify the mission statement and to reduce the number of faculty committees were added to the agenda. With those additions and with some reordering of New Business items, the draft agenda was adopted.
4. Proposal to Combine L&S Faculty Committees - It was moved and seconded to recommend to the Faculty that some L&S Faculty Committees be combined as outlined in the COC's draft proposal. The Committee approved the addition of an implementation section at the end of the proposal. The motion was approved.
   
   
6. Adjournment - Robert Hessling thanked Connie Jo for her help with creating the proposal to combine committees. The Committee commended Charles Wimpee and Robert Hessling for their service chairing the Committee. The meeting was adjourned at 12:35 p.m.
