Kent Redding explained that degree requirements are reviewed approximately every five years. He commended Sara Hoot for her work on the mission statement. Kent gave a brief summary of the subcommittee's conclusions concerning the capstone requirement, distribution requirements, English, math, and the B.A. and B.S. credits. He told members that the subcommittee will meet next week to review the international, language, and seminar requirements as well as the current policy to accept sixteen Military Science credits. Thereafter, a written report of the Subcommittee's recommendations will be presented to the Course and Curriculum Committee and the Dean.

Connie Jo noted that a number of faculty members had expressed concern about lack of enforcement of the policy requiring students to declare a major between 45 and 75 credits. Members of the Subcommittee will review this policy at the next meeting. Committee members agreed that this is a policy the Faculty would like to have strengthened.
