    VI.A.1.   JMC 262 Principles of Media Studies (new) - David Allen gave a brief description of the course and answered questions. It was moved, seconded, and approved to recommend to the Dean approval of JMC 262.

    VI.A.1. Wmns 410 Theoretical Traditions in Women's Studies (new) - Kathy Miller-Dillon gave a brief description of the course and answered questions. It was moved, seconded, and approved to recommend to the Dean approval of Wmns 410, contingent on reviewing the syllabus to remove references to graduate credit.

    VI.C.4. Proposal to Conduct English 101 Pilot Study - Bruce Horner summarized the program the English department plans to implement for the 2004-2005 academic year. Charles Schuster expressed his strong support for the program. It was moved, seconded, and approved to recommend to the Dean approval of this pilot study. The Committee asked that Bruce report findings to the C&CC at the end of the fall semester.

    It was moved, seconded and approved to return to the order of business.

Physics 306 Introduction to Biophysics (new) - Connie informed the Committee that, as requested, the Physics Department had consulted with Chemistry and, as a result, had modified the course prerequisites. There are no further objections to the course. Members asked Connie to contact the instructor to ask him to modify the syllabus. It was moved, seconded, and approved to recommend to the Dean approval of Physics 306 contingent upon adding a grading scheme to the syllabus.

It was moved, seconded, and approved to recommend to the Dean approval of Geog 332, contingent on clarifying the grading scheme and the "Background" section of the syllabus. Chris will communicate this to the instructor.

        French 395 Reading French for Proficiency (new) - Madeleine Velguth gave a brief description of the course and answered questions. It was moved, seconded, and approved to recommend to the Dean approval of French 395.
      2. Request for International Designation for German 115, Seminar in Advanced Topics in Scandinavian Culture. - It was moved, seconded, and approved to recommend to the Dean approval of the request for International designation for German 115.
      3. Proposal for an Articulation Agreement between WTCS Supervisory Management and UWM Organizational Administration - Connie Jo explained to members that articulation agreements with the technical colleges were specific to a particular UWM major and that 30 credits from the tech program would be accepted as general electives only if the student continued in that major. Tom O'Bryan added that students are required to have an associate degree in their tech program before their tech credits will transfer, and he noted that the students must complete 90 L&S credits for the degree. He explained that this will be the first articulation agreement for L&S. It was moved, seconded, and approved to recommend to the L&S Faculty approval of the proposal for an articulation agreement between WTCS Supervisory Management and UWM Organizational Administration.
