    VI.B.2     Merry Wiesner-Hanks gave a brief summary and answered questions concerning the Implementation Plan for a Major in Women's Studies. It was moved, seconded, and approved unanimously to recommend to the Dean to approve the Implementation Plan for Major in Women's Studies.
    VI.B.1. Kathy Callahan was available to answer any questions concerning the new course, Hist 353. It was moved, seconded, and approved to recommend to the Dean approval Hist 353 Ireland Since 1600: Colony to Independent State (new).

    It was moved, seconded, and approved to return to the order of the agenda.

        3. Recommendation to Approve Implementation Plan for a Major in ActuarialSciences (handout) - Jay Beder gave a brief summary of the major in actuarial science. He explained that the current actuarial science option of the math major was redesigned as a major to attract more students. Eric Key answered questions by the Committee and gave details concerning the program. He explained that unlike programs at other institutions, the UWM major in actuarial science is a B.A. in L&S, not a business degree. He clarified that the current option would be eliminated when the major is approved. It was moved, seconded, and approved to recommend to the Dean approval of the implementation plan for a major in actuarial science.
