Connie informed members of the Committee that she contacted JMC concerning Commun 381 having a title similar to a topic JMC has offered. Garry Davis described Linguis 151-164. Members of the Committee questioned the prereq for Linguis 161 and 163. Garry explained that students must have knowledge of the Hmong/Lao language. Cam Tatham asked if a statement should be added to these two courses in the prerequisite informing students these courses are "intended for students speaking Hmong." Professor Davis informed members of the committee that students must have a preliminary interview with instructors before being allowed to enroll in the courses. The Committee requested that "consent of instructor" be added to the prereq for these courses, but it was noted that this prereq still would not alert students that speaking Hmong/Lao was necessary. With a change to 161 and 163 to clarify the intended audience, it was moved, seconded, and approved to recommend to the Dean approval of the following courses:
        Linguis 151   First-Semester Korean (new)
        Linguis 152 Second-Semester Korean (new)
