L&S: Communication, French, Geography, History, International Studies (Int'l Economics), Political Science, Spanish

New students enrolled between Sept 1999 and Aug 2000: 9

Graduated: Dec 1999 (3) / May 2000 (4) / Aug 2000 (2)

Promotion

Annual mailing each fall to Spanish and IS majors (October)

Presentations/info given in five Latin American/Spanish language classes

New flyer produced on initiative of certificate student/CLA outreach asst Crystalin Montgomery (see attached); flyer also lists all UWM certificate programs.

Improvement Needed

Better and more regularized communication between the LAS Certificate and L&S Advising in order to know when students have graduated with the certificate.

Planned Name Change

to: Certificate in Latin American and Caribbean Studies

Expansion

Further development of a Graduate Certificate in Latin American and Caribbean Studies
