- Call to Order - The meeting came to order at 1:15 p.m. in Holton 241.
- Procedural Matters
- Rhea Steinpreis was elected chair for the 2000-2001 committee.
- Rhea asked the members if a meeting during the first week of classes of Spring semester would fit in everyone's schedule. The Committee members agreed this would be a good time to meet.
- Automatic Consent - None
- Old Business - None
- New Business
- Connie Jo reviewed the charter and highlighted what this committee accomplished in the last few years. There was a discussion about how the charge of this committee may overlap with other university committees. Rhea recommended the committee investigate the other university committees to confirm if an overlap exists. Each member must provide the following university report for the next meeting:
- Hutz: Career Tracking Program;
- Rodriguez-Luis: 2008 Report;
- Steinpreis: charter for the university affirmative action committee; copy of the report on the status of women;
- Velez: the report showing which minorities are underrepresented in various university populations (faculty, staff, etc.);
- Van Wynsberghe: university report card from Equity and Diversity Services.
After these reports have been shared with the members of the Committee, the issue of whether or not this committee should continue will be revisited.
- The meeting was adjourned at 1:36 p.m.
