1. Call to Order--The Chair, Doug Cherkauer, called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. in Holton 241.
   
2. Automatic Consent--Minutes #6 (April 4, 2000) were approved with a correction to David Heathcote's name.
   
   
3. Procedural Matters--David Heathcote was elected unanimously as Committee Chair for the 2000-2001 academic year.
   
   
4. Old Business
   
   1. Master's Program Survey--The number of master's degree students in Biological Sciences was corrected to read "37."
      
   2. Members voted unanimously to request that the Dean either distribute copies of the Doctoral Array report and the Research 2006 report to departments or provide a web address where these reports are available.
      
   
   
5. New Business
   
   1. It was moved and seconded to recommend to the Dean approval of the proposal by the Department of Communication to revise the requirements of the Master of Arts in Communication. The motion was approved unanimously.
      
   2. The Committee thanked the Chair and commended him for his leadership during the past year.
