Issues of General Policy

The Committee discussed the absence of student members from the Committee for the past several years. It was agreed that departments should be contacted asking them to nominate graduate students for Committee membership.

The Committee discussed the Graduate School's decision to turn over responsibility for the selection of NRTR merit scholarships to the individual schools and colleges. It was the consensus of Committee members that this function should remain within the Graduate School.
