Dealing with the Stephen Colbert photo mosaic
Note: Colbert here not actual resolution.
In photoshop, make sure that you are showing the grid, that is:
View>show>grid or apple+"
go to Photoshop>Preferences>grids, guides, slices
change to grid line every 6 inches with 6 subdivisions
Under View, make sure that snap is checked.
Now using the marquee tool (M) you can select squares (hold the shift key) and copy and paste or drag using the move tool (V)
Remember:
Each sector 600 pixels sq. (6 inches).
Small Cell=100px (1 inch)
Each Sector 6x6 small cells.
Try to match the hue and value of the under-pixel by adjusting the opacity and options on the layer pallette. Also try image>adjustments>etc...
