MIME-Version: 1.0 (WebTV) Here is the taper for the Model #17, 1 1/2F Extra Lite Trout rod. This casts well with a #3 333 DT line. Also tried an F silk level line that casts well. 1 1/2 F (16/64) butt ferrule, 10/64 tip ferrule. Black tenite (3 1/2") downlocking reel seat. Pyralin butt cap. N/S hardware. 5 1/2" reverse wells cork grip. Same pattern as the Model 50 President, only smaller. Black wraps with orange tipping. All measurements taken with 1/2" Starret mic using pressure release. All varnish was removed. Mesurements taken with rod assembled, from the tip. Odd measurements are at the ferrules. Tips are mirrored and so little difference between the two tips I am only showing one measurement. Looking under a magnifier, this looks to be a well made rod, all strips are perfect. Used all three dimensions and averaged, but did not find and great differential between the flats. Nothing more than .001. Tip - .062 5" - .069 10" - .089 15" - .1015 20" - .117 25" - .126 30" - .148 31" - .151 Mid 33 5/8" - .158 35" - .163 40" - .185 45" - .197 50" - .211 55" - .2205 60" - .227 62 3/8" - .230 Butt 66" - .250 70" - .263 75" - .269 80" - .287 85" - .343 87" - .396 Butt swell starts at 84" Bob
